Summary

The Technical Data Analyst will serve as an integral part of the Data, Planning and Analysis (DPA) team at NEEA, working to streamline and maintain internal analytical tools and data processes. They will lead  requirements gathering efforts and collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to build a cohesive set of solutions and processes that support measurement and analytical activities. The Technical Data Analyst will ensure principles of data integrity, continuous improvement and change management are embedded in workstreams.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000

The Typical Day May Include…

  • Leading conversations with Market and Data Analysts to understand current processes, analytical needs, identifying gaps and pain points.
  • Collaborating with fellow technical resources to build solutions that streamline analysis, reporting and drive market insights.
  • Vetting and prioritizing new tool and enhancement requests.
  • Developing analytical products to support interpretation of and access to shared datasets
  • Creating documentation for tools, databases, and processes such as schema diagrams, workflows, data dictionaries.
  • Implementing data validation and QA/QC processes to ensure integrity of datasets.
  • Writing scripts using Python/R to clean and enrich data, supporting ad hoc analytical requests.

You Likely Have The Following:

  • Strong technical background with the desire to learn and apply new systems and concepts.
  • Proven record of success supporting analytical tools, applications, or data pipelines
  • Analytical mindset, ability to effectively apply tools and data to meet business needs.
  • Ability to independently move projects forward, multitask, and be proactive in a complex environment.
  • Strong communication skills, experience understanding business needs and translating into technical requirements.

Your Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, business, statistics or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience with Python/R.  
  • Experience with Systems Analysis (Requirements gathering, designing processes and workflows, familiarity with SDLC)
  • Working knowledge of Power Query
  • Experience in energy efficiency, or resource conservation a plus. 
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties will also be considered.
