Summary

The role of the Manager, Program Operations is to lead operational excellence and program coordination as a part of the program management function at NEEA and in support of the Market Development and Transformation division. The Manager provides direct supervision to a group of program coordinators responsible for supporting NEEA’s market transformation programs and product groups as well as related functions and processes in the division including market strategy and partnerships and strategic opportunities. The Manager ensures coordination and project management resources are available and deployed effectively to achieve the business objectives of NEEA’s market transformation portfolio. This position also develops and manages processes and tools that support program and product group management, oversees the processes, tools and reporting for strategic opportunity projects (e.g. extra-regionally funded projects), and acts as the liaison representing the division in working with business administration (contracts, legal, finance, accounting, and IT) on continuous improvements to processes impacting program and product group teams.

Salary Range: $114,000 - $124,000, exempt

The Typical Day May Include…

  • Meeting one-on-one with your team members on their workload, assignments and personal development.
  • Working with peer managers to assess workloads and assign resources from your team.
  • Leading a collaborative team effort on tools and best practices for project and workplan management.
  • Coordinating with the Legal team on roles and expectations related to RFP/RFIs and contracting for program managers and project coordinators.
  • Refining a tool for tracking and communicating the status of projects.
  • Presenting to a group on a new process improvement.
  • Attending a Management Council meeting to learn about new opportunities for staff.

You Likely Have the Following Experience:

  • Strong project management experience.
  • Experience managing people or leading teams.
  • Experience planning and implementing process refinements.
  • Experience developing tools and trackers to help teams stay organized.
  • Proven experience working across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through writing, presentations and one-on-one interactions.
  • Experience planning and facilitating interactive team sessions is a bonus.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and lead through influence.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Your Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 8 years related working experience. First-line supervisory experience and project management training/certification strongly preferred. Experience in an organization with a Program Management Office or experience in energy efficiency, resource conservation, or product marketing a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SharePoint. 
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties will also be considered.
